March 01 Wowwell here it is March 1st. I can't believe this year is flying by. I have had some internet trouble this past week and haven't been able to access this site. I hope all of that is over.
Any way, I have really stepped up my workouts. Tae bo is by FAR the best calorie burner i have! In 50 minutes I am burning over 400! I think my endurance is getting better because I am not getting as out of breath as I used to. I am noticing changes in my body too---I will post pictures soon---well i have to go get breakfast goin! have a great weekend!!!
donna February 22 not been hereSo it has been a while since either Mary or I has been on here. I know she has been super busy and I have been busy also---we both adopted puppies around Valentine's day. Siberian Huskies! They are both female and sisters. Her's is named Mya and ours is Jasmine. My girls have been begging for a pup for a while and I finally gave in.
I also have been a bit depressed lately. I just didn't understand what happened. I indulged a couple of times and it showed. I gained 4 pounds. It is slowly coming back off--then the deal with the heart rate monitor. I just don't know if I can kick my workouts up any harder than I am doing. I mean I was doing workouts that I thot were pretty intense and good calorie burners but I guess not
donna February 19 Surprised...So how bout I ordered a heart rate monitor a few weeks ago and it came last week. I was out of town over the weekend and didn't get much exercise in, so today was my first real experience with it. I did Step Reebok, which I consider to be a pretty intense workout--I would figure it for about 500 calories burned--well my hrm said I only burned 306 calories. I was sweating so bad and out of breath and I know my heart rate was up the whole time. Does anyone know if these things are accurate? I don't know if I am reading it wrong---I have a Polar F6. I guess I am going to have to do some net research on it cause the instruction manual doesn't give you much to go by....guess I am really going to have to step things up!!!! I just have to write this because last night's show really bugged me. I like both the trainers and I think they are awesome for helping so many people lose so much weight. However, I think that Bob really showed bad judgement walking out on his team. His team lost by one little pound. All those guys had great numbers in weight loss for a week and because they fell one pound short, he storms out. I am sorry but I lost a lot of respect for him as a trainer. He should have stood there and applauded Jay and the other guys on their losses. They all put up big numbers. It's not like one player was trying to throw the weigh in by intentionally showing a gain. I am sorry but if I was on the blue team, I would be seriously talking to Jillian about switching teams. I would want a trainer that I could count on, not one that is going to walk away and be a sore loser......
Just my opinions---Donna February 12 Just a teaseSo we did get together yesterday to exercise and it seems like just a tease. Because today we are sitting under about 2-3 inches of snow, the roads suck, and more snow and ice is coming. So it looks like just a workout at home today. I am bummed, I really enjoyed the workout yesterday. Well I am going to get a workout in today and maybe we can get together tomorrow! Have a great day!!!!
~Donna February 11 A workout together Well it has been a long time since i have added anything, sorry about that. Well today will be the first time that donna and i get to workout together in over a week and a half!!!!!!! I am pumped, I have not been doing very good at all with my diet or working out Mary February 07 Impressed with myself!So yesterday and today I really pushed myself with workouts. I love to do Step Reebok. It is an oldie but it's definately a goodie! I usually do it on a 4 inch step, well, yesterday, i adjusted the step to it's other height, 8 inches, and I was able to get thru the whole workout! I did the same thing again today. It jacked up my heart rate to the higher end of my range too so hopefully that burned more for me. After that I did Jillian's shape up back. I recorded some Namaste Yoga shows on DVR and I tried doing that for cool down. I am just loving this whole exercise thing. It's a bit hard to get motivated to start but once I am done I feel so much better. I even went and ordered a heart rate monitor just to get a more accurate count on the calories I burn---anal huh? Oh well. I am so ready to get rid of this fat for good that I will do anything!!!! Well have a good evening everyone!!
~~~Donna February 05 workoutOk so because of rain and possibilities of flooding, Mary and I didn't get together today, but I still got a good workout in. I did 35 minutes of Step Reebok, 30 minutes of Jillian and then 20 minutes of Namaste Yoga. The Yoga show was on Fit TV or some channel like that and man it really helps stretch your body after a good workout. My eating has been under control so I think I am off to a great start this week and hopefully headed toward another pound lost next Monday---Well the kids will be home soon from school---Take care all!!!! Donna February 04 Better TodayFirst I want to say thanks to everyone who expressed concern for my daughter. She is much better today and I didn't have to take her to the ER. She is still laying around and saying she doesn't feel good---but after a day like that who would feel good! She started drinking Gatorade yesterday afternoon and started eating this morning. I didn't send her to school so she can recoup!
Ok on to my weigh in. It wasn't as bad as I thot --- down another pound! That makes 4.2 pounds lost in a month! I am so happy with that. I am very grateful for Biggest Loser and MSN for sponsoring this. And really, I don't even care about the contest end of it. I am seeing results and I see the finish line. I know that I am a winner no matter what! I just hope that this community stays together after the contest is over because this is just such a great support system! It really holds you accountable. So anyway, I am off to eat my breakfast, try to get laundry done, and nurse my baby back to complete health! Take care all and have great Monday!!!!
~Donna February 03 Gonna Be a Bad DayI know this is going to be a bad day....my last day to get a workout in before weigh in tomorrow and it is so not going to happen. My 5 1/2 year old is puking up her toes! (Sorry that's gross, I know) I am seriously debating taking her to the ER or Urgent care. She has been throwing up every 15 minutes for about 2 hours and it literally sounds like it is coming from her toes. I know kids can dehydrate faster than adults and teens, but I just don't know what to do. I have a call into my dr so i guess it's just a wait and see type of thing. I'll let everyone know how she is! Take care and have a good Sunday everyone! February 02 The weekend is hereSaturday is here and I am worn out. I don't know how much desire I have today to exercise. I am really going to push myself later today to get something in. Mary has a busy busy weekend. Her twin girls turned 2 on Thursday and her son turns 4 today. She is having one huge birthday party for them. Be good Mary and watch what you eat!! LOL! I am still working on getting that video blog going. Every time we are together, I forget to do it, or I forget to take my camera....etc... there is another friend of ours that wants to join our group so maybe we'll have her record us working out to Jillian and we can post that. Donna January 31 another good dayWell, today Mary and I were able to work out together and darn it, we didn't do the video blog. I keep forgetting about it. I am sorry. So we did, Billy Blanks 8 min Cardio---that seems to be a staple to get us moving. Then we did rounds on the machines. She had company coming so I helped her straighten up a bit, then came home. I was able to fit in Jillian's Maximize full frontal and 50 crunches on my exercise ball. I may try to do more later, depends on how my night goes...well i am off to make dinner. have a good one everyone!!! January 30 Where'd that come from?Ok so today is Wednesday and I volunteer at my girls' school all day. It is a very tiring day, dealing with 46 kindergardeners in the morning and 70 some third graders in the afternoon...tiring yes but I love doing it. Well last night we had a major cold front come thru our area and we had wind gusts of like 60 MPH. I was up most of the night because we live in a very woodsy area and high winds make me very nervous with all the trees around...so you see what I am getting at? Very little sleep, tiring day, exhausted at home! All I wanted to do was lay on the couch and rest. Then I looked at my FitDay food log ![]() January 29 Sick today Well today i am sick as a dog but, i did manage to get a little workout in. I tried to do billy blanks 8 minute thing but i couldn't catch my breath half way through it so i had to quit. I just did some strength training stuff and called it a day. I wish i wasn't sick cause i really need to workout, maybe tomorrow will be better. ![]() January 28 Good DayToday is shaping up to be a really good day for me. I had a pretty tough emotional weekend, even losing a night's sleep. But I managed to stay under my daily calories. I am so proud of myself because I can be an emotional eater. Ya know you just feel so bad and that dish of ice cream makes you feel so great! I got on the scale today and managed to lose about a pound and a half! Looks like the revamp last week from tracking point to tracking calories really worked! So I got an hour of a work out in today. 35 minutes of Step Reebok (I didn't do the cool down because I was doing more) then I did Jillian's Shape Up Front. Oh and I am so exicted because I bought her Winning by Losing book today too! Even tho it's Monday, it is a good day. I am just keeping my ultimate goal in mind and that helps me push thru the hard workouts-----OMG and something else I accomplished today---2 (yes 2) sets of 10 REGULAR PUSH UPS!!!!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!! I used to have to do them on my knees but today I did them in full plank position!!!! I am so excited, however more than that right now is probably not going to happen lol!!!! 3 weeks ago i couldn't do them but on my knees!!! So yeah this is a great start to a new week!!!! January 23 Good workout Today was the first time i ever did Jillian's front side, and i did the hole thing. I am so proud of myself. It was a half hour of hard intense workout!!! It was so hard I thought i was gonna puke and i think i would have if i had to do one more of them freakin mountain climbing things ahhh it was so hard.We also took our measurements and i am very happy with the results. I lost inches from about every where we measured. I just hope that Monday the scale is a little nicer than last week. I would love to see like 4 pounds!!! That is my goal ![]() Exhausted!Wow so I was able to get over to Mary's today and man did we exercise. I am so proud of her as she was able to Jillian's Shape Up Front the whole way thru! WAY TO GO MARY!!! We did some weight lifting and other things to total an hour and half workout! But, as for me, well, I didn't sleep very well last night and now I am sitting here trying to stay awake to make dinner for my family. LOL! I know I will sleep good tonight!!! I am trying to send out an event invitation but it seems like the event site it down so hopefully that will be back up soon! Ok well i am off to try to make something for dinner!!! January 22 Dang Snow!!!Ok so I am not going to be able to get to Mary's today because of the freaking snow and the dipwad state road crew that refuses to acknowledge that these back roads exist! Sorry just venting---I have had some stress issues lately and I am so totally NOT in the mood to exercise today anyway. Did ya ever have those times when you just want to crawl in a hole and wish the world away---yeah that's about what I have been feeling like. I am hoping that maybe it's just PMS or something and it will go away. One good thing is my hubby is home and he helps make me feel better ;)---- So I am committing to getting to Mary's tomorrow to get a great workout in. I know I should get up off my butt and exercise today, but I just can't find it in me to do it. I will watch what I eat so it won't be too bad. Here's to tomorrow!!! |
